CHRYSSOPOULOS

Maria Chryssopoulos is a fourth year Theatre Major with a concentration in Acting. Her UGA credits include Missy Hart in 9 to 5, Peasant Woman/Mother Courage Understudy in Mother Courage and Her Children, and Jessie in the New Georgia Grant musical First Semester. Her outside UGA credits include The Third Actor in I'm Gonna Marry you Tobey Maguire with student group AGA, Piggy, Simon, Jack in Olivia's Vicos' Curo adaptation of Lord of the Flies. She also went to Georgia State University her first two years before transferring to UGA and was Calliope/Aphrodite in Xanadu with OutFront Theatre.

Furthermore, Maria has piqued her interest in writing and producing performances. She received a Mellon Grant with the women's studies department to explore lesbian archival work with UGA's Special Collections Library. In this work, she has decided to write, perform, and produce a one woman show, expanding on the work she has found. This will be performed with the Lavender Festival: a festival that ignites queer stories.
